Preschoolers with communication delays need daily opportunities to participate in activities and experiences that are interesting to them and support their language and communication skills. This training will address behavior challenges by discussing strategies that support their communication and engagement throughout the day. The goal is to reduce challenging behaviors by increasing children's ability to communicate and participate in daily activities and routines.
This training, led by an experienced PKD, focuses on fostering effective communication in the PKD classroom. Participants will explore strategies to support diverse communication needs, including augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), visual supports, and sensory-friendly techniques. Gain insights into creating an environment that encourages selfexpression, builds social connections, and empowers young learners. Whether working with verbal or nonverbal students, this session equips educators with practical tools to enhance communication and promote meaningful interactions in early childhood settings.
